Can anyone recommend any great places to visit in Kuala Lumpur? Interesting local places, not just tourist hotspots, please!

to be honest, the best way to really experience the KL life is to just enjoy it! Like, experiencing Chow Kit first-hand, where its literally a market full of stuffs, eating foods and delicacies that are unique in itself, you'd never get bored of food in KL, or by wandering around in Petaling Street, Central Market or Masjid Jamek, you'd really see different sides of KL. but fairly so, I think the guide given in Wikitravel really sums up KL pretty well. wikitravel.org/en/Kuala_Lumpur we just like to chill cause we're cool like that.

The Sky Bar,is an open air pavilion perched on the hotel’s roof appears to almost float in the clouds, and boasts some of the finest views in all of Kuala Lumpur. Located at Level 33 at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, promises the ultimate in cool drinks and intoxicating views, all in a very chic and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Other nice place is Luna Bar. This chic breezy rooftop (opened in 2004) with a pool in the middle is a hang out for the twenties and thirties nightlife scene in Kuala Lumpur. It has a long indoor bar with an elegant design leading you out onto the rooftop for the best views of the Kuala Lumpur’s lights.

For a romantic night out, be sure to get there early to snag a private little enclave up against the glass. A cover charge of MYR50 (arround $16) will be executed after 9:30PM during the weekend (even if it includes a drink, it’s expensive…).

Wow those bars look amazing! Just looked at their websites, the view is too good to be truth! Really wanna go there now, especially since it's still soooo cold in Amsterdam and no cool places to go to any more, think we've seen it all and I'm bored of everything Amsterdam has to offer haha.
