Pick-up lines 1 Year, 6 Months ago
I think pick-up lines differ from country to country. So here you can drop your famous lines, share the the best and the worst lines that where used on you and give your opinion about pick-up lines in other countries.
I'm curious for your experiences

In Italy, men conquer you with a lot of laughter and a good glass of wine..
But there are many young guys called "Cuozzi" (like "Guidos" in USA),
that use the worst pickup lines in the world

"Ehi biscuit..can I drench you?"

"Are your parents thieves?..Because they stole the stars and put them into your eyes!"

"Your daddy must have been a terrorist, because you are the bomb!" or
"Your dad works in mine, because you are a stone!"

"Ehi,What are you doing??..you have smashed my car!!"..she: "No!Why??"..
"eh eh you are a CRASH!"

"Fairy, have you bewitched me?..or Witch, have you 'befaired' me?"

"Sorry, Is Partenope Street far?..and which road do I take for your heart??"

PS: I'm sorry, but I don't write in english very well!

Wow I thought Dutch men were the worst in pick up lines, but I guess Italians are even worse. It's really funny to see some are exactly the same as Dutch ones!

Like: "Your daddy must have been a terrorist, because you are the bomb!"

Haha I actually like the one about the terrorist and the bomb I think I would laugh really hard when a guy said that to me.

I thin a famous one in Holland is:
"mm where are your wings? cause you must be an angel!" or something like that..

Grll hate it!

Thanks for those lines! Kiara, I actually think that your English is quit good!

In the Netherlands pick up lines are not that popular. Guys rather just say hi or buy you a beer.
If they do come up with a pick up line it is usually something standard like:

"I think I know you" or "Do you come here a lot?"

I think pick up lines have to be quit good for them to be succesfull. I rather have a guy coming up to me who just says hi or buys me a beer than to use a cheesy pick up line. But maybe that's just because I'm Dutch How about you guys?

Buying a drink is always a good one

I hate guys who say I need to smile more or the ones that say if I would smile would be even more beautiful.. When I'm not smiling, it's mostly not because I like the guy in question that much

This thread reminds me of an old line i tried twice (should have known better )

"Hi there, do you know how much an iceberg weighs?"
"Enough to break the ice..."

Damn that one was tacky...

Haha yesss it's quite tacky, but nevertheless it can work! So tell us, did it ?

Maybe a theory could be: the worse the pick up line, the better an icebreaker it is... I don't feel like testing it, but I'm wondering, how do you all respond to pick up lines?

Alas, it didn't work either time.

Then again if they did work, i wouldn't be posting them here, would I? I'm not going to share the chef's secret

If you use them with enough irony, it may actually work.

I actually think that anything could work. Depending on the girl/guy that you try it on.
Too bad you're not sharing your chefs secret Jos! I think people would really like to know it!
Unfortunately I can't share any chef secrets with you guys because I don't think I ever used one. Well, I must have, I probably just can't remember it. If I will remember it again I will definitely share my story here

Re:Pick-up lines 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Hey everyone! Its been a while since I've been on the forum but this looks pretty interesting. I don't think I've ever had a 'pick up line' that I consciously used on a girl. I had a friend who majored in math and he used all kinds of 'math pick up lines' on girls, for example, you look like a 36-25-36, which are all perfect squares. He wasn't very successful, you can guess!

But ladies, what are the best and worst lines that have been used on you? And also, when a friend is interested, a pick up line isn't going to work - how do you overcome that awkward situation? Maybe I'll start another discussion on that!

Hi Chris, how are you? Are you still in Amsterdam?

I still hate all the pick up lines including the word 'smile' the most...
(You would be even more pretty if you would smile / Ahhh smile a little for me / Oh you look angry, you should smile more, etc)
I usually only use my 'angry' face when I'm trying to get them away, so bad pick up lines dont work then

But I think it depends on the guy and the situation.. Maybe the best ones are if you ask her advice (which cocktail would you recommend, do you know a good party after this, should I wear my hat or not...) cause then it's not that obvious it's a bad pick up line

I will pay some attention to remember any bad ones in the future and share them here

I'm really wondering, is bad pick up lines something just guys do, or have you boys ever had a girl using a very bad pick up line with you?

Re:Pick-up lines 1 Year, 3 Months ago
I found back a notebook yesterday in which me and my friends used to keep track of weird pick-up lines that where used on us haha I think the weirdest someone used on me is probably 'Can I see your petticoat?' which it's pretty weird since I don't think I have ever worn petticoats.
Funny to write those lines down though, otherwise I would've completely forgotten this sentence
