What Kind of Girl/Guy would you look for? 2 Years, 6 Months ago
|
|

I just posted on tv shows about McDreamy... got me thinking about what kind of person would we be attracted to in real life? I wouldn't want a doctor....too busy! But still someone passionate about his job

Yes passionate about what someone is doing is absolutely necessary!
And he has to be enthusiastic and confident.

Confident? That can go either way though. You can have someone who is confident about themselves and that can also be a turn off. I don't have many example of guys being confident in a good way. But humble and sensitive can be really nice too right?

Yes, tell us please
I like confident and enthusiastic guys aswell, but not in an arrogant way. I also think that he has to be passionate about something. Furthermore my ideal guy is optimistic and not too serious

witty would be fun, keep you on your toes but someone who plays tricks would be childish, not someone who would pull pranks like its always april fools! Someone who has something to say, teasing.

Yeah, that's a good analysis. I hate the hard-to-get-play, from both sides.
I hate guys who are always funny though, and cant be serious. But maybe for Sjoerdje that's what she likes?

Didn't you have a girlfriend already?
What should a girl have. Good question
Okay I admit I'm a bit superficial in this She must have the right looks, so yeah I have to feel attracted to her (outside does matter damn ). (And no, I'm not looking for some model but feeling attracted is a demand )
Since my last girlfriend ran off with some other girl (who she only knew of a chat and did never see before, even not on pics) after having a relation of 2.5 years with eachother I would prefer a girl that is not bisexual
And maybe a bit of the same level of schooling would be nice too
*can set up a way larger list of 'demands' but thinks he should stop now already*

but a question to all of you, guy or girl. Does it their career or professional interest matter? Is that an attraction or would it not matter?

It is an attraction for me, or maybe I should say an extra attraction. I wouldn't turn someone down for it if she had a normal not so interesting career but well if she has it would help Also it might give something to talk about and that is always good

Yes I think it matters. It's more easy to connect with someone that is on the same level, and this mostly correlates with his professional ambitions and career. Plus in my case (being passionate and enthusiastic in what you doing) most of the time results in a succesful career . This of course doesnt always have to be a carreer in business or government, it can also be something creative or sports etc.
A question to the guys: do you like a girl less when she has a better carreer then you (are you intimidated by that)? Just curious

To keep this one going No Steffy I'm not intimidated at all. I'm doing archaeology and if I should be intimidated by women with a better career then I should be intimidated like by all girls who are studying/did study. Career prospect for archaeologists isn't that great

Well their career matters to me in the way that I think that he shouldn't have a job or a career which he thinks is boring just because he has to work or has to earn money. Just as Steffy says: it has something to do with the fact that he has to passionate and enthousiastic about what he is doing

I think the biggest turn off is when someone says: my job is boring.
I had that once!
Well, he explained what he'd studied and what he worked for (it was a university course so he had choice enough) and I said:
"Well, that sounds rather boring!"
And he agreed with me. Well I cant take anyone serious when he says that haha, GO CHANGE IT I thought

only real boring courses I have are because I wasn't able to choose them. But I know quite some people who are just doing a study because the prospects of a job are pretty good.
Anyway girls question for you. If you see a nice guy and he sees you as well. What should he do (well obviously he wants to contact you ) and how? Just being nice introducing himself and chat a bit, or just more straightforwarded or something else?
