I have read, like classics, Therese Raquin and Madame Bovary .. they are both beautiful.
Now I'm reading "The druggist of Auschwitz", a documentary novel, by Dieter Schlesak .. but I don't know if I will finish it because it's too sad for me!

It sounds kind of sad indeed. What is it about?
I have never read Madame Bovary yet, but I really should. I think the writer, Flaubert, was even born in Rouen, where I am studying now. I should start reading it now I'm still here

Viktor Capesius, was a pharmacist at Sighisoara(Transylvania)..many years later he became the pharmacist of Auschwitz.
He personally selects people to send them to die, and distributes doses of Zyklon B, the lethal gas.. (Many of these people was his old neighbors and friends)
Everything that is told in this book is real!....Read it really makes the blood run cold!

Wow that indeed sounds quite terrible.. a very sad book! I think I will not read it did you finish or are you going to stop reading it?
I will start tonight in a Dutch book about the military mission in Afghanistan.. But I still have to choose, I have two books: one from a soldier (Niels Roelen) and one from a journalist (Joeri Boom).. I think they'll be both very good since I've seen the writers and they are really good speakers with a strong opinion and lots to talk about!

I'm in the middle of the book right now. I hope to finish reading it soon, so that I can switch to next book.
The soldier's book should be interesting!
Dutch are people so peaceful.. I can't imagine a Dutch soldier, angry and combative, at war!

I'm finishing my book this week too and think I'm going to start reading Sunny Boy. As the book was filmed I rather read the book first than watch the movie first.

I'm now reading the tipping point (another 'classic' standing on my list for quite a while now) and I like it a lot until now!
I think we should have that with Globals too , a tipping point to make it a worldwide success

I finished my sad book, and now I'm reading (for the second time) "The Story of My Life", a wonderful autobiography of Helen Keller!

How are the books you're all reading??
I just finished the tipping point (finally!)
I'm now reading Outliers (also from Malcolm Gladwell) about "the story of success". It looks into reasons why some people are so successful. He argues it's not all personality, but also exceptional factors (in that case you have to both talented, ambitous and a bit lucky I suppose.
I like it so far!

Hi Amelia, I'm also reading How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie!
I love his way of telling, his anecdotes are really amusing and insightful.
Furthermore, I'm reading SuperFreakonomics, by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. Do you guys know it? I am a big fan of their books!
